Our first full week of Pastoral Care Week events was a great success- we spent each day providing care and support to many, under one area of our mission. On Sunday, October 22nd, Chaplain Paul Goodenough presented “The End is Where We Begin,” an advance directives workshop on facing the end of life and it’s decisions with clarity and confidence. Monday, Paul supported the patients at the CORE Center. On Tuesday, the 24th Bishop Anderson House staff gave away “swag” at Rush and Stroger Hospitals. We gave out over 300 mini prayer squares, graciously knitted by our friends at St. Michael’s Chuch in Barrington (to learn more about St. Michael’s and their ministries, click here). We also opened our space for prayer and meditation, Chaplain Jim hosted a grief and loss service for Project CONNECT employees, we hosted a Chappy Hour at our offices, as well as a continuing education event at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hinsdale.

We are so pleased with how our first week went, and we are so excited for next year’s Pastoral Care Week.
