Elder Care Workshops
The Church Home at Montgomery Place and Bishop Anderson House are joining forces to offer two elder care workshops in the fall of 2014. Each presentation will be held in the East Room at The Church Home at Montgomery Place, 5550 S. Shore Dr., Chicago, IL.
Workshops will incorporate topics of importance to those caring for an aging parent or partner, as well as those involved in pastoral care for the aging. The presentations are open to all at no charge and you are welcome to attend either or both.

Death and Dying: Honest Dialogue about a Taboo Topic
Saturday, Oct. 11, 8:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
“Eldercare and the Caregiver: Body, Mind, and Spirit,” features Dr. Patricia Murphy of Rush University Medical Center, The Rev. Linda Green of Bishop Anderson House and The Rev. Nancy Meyer, Deacon and nurse practitioner. Subject matter includes Spirituality at the End of Life, Nonverbal and Verbal Communication with the Elderly,and Care Giving at Home. On Saturday, October 11, the focus is on “Death and Dying: Honest Dialogue about a Taboo Topic.” The Rev. Jay Risk of Bishop Anderson House, The Rev. Julianne Buenting of The Church Home and health care professionals will address Grief, Loss and Resiliency; Advance Directives and more; andPalliative and Hospice Care. Register for October 11.
