Thank you kind friends and generous supporters!
Over 200 friends of Bishop Anderson House spent a grand evening sharing great food and drink and lots of laughter while opening their hearts and pocketbooks to support our work.
Nacional 27 was the site of our Catch the Latin Spirit fundraiser, and funds were raised! During the Raise the Paddle Auction, Benefit Chair Kay Lewis reminded the crowd why they had gathered, “We do this so we can be at Stroger when the shooting victims we read about in the paper are hospitalized or so we can attend to devastated families who have just lost a baby. We do this so we can have incredible Julian interns and help form their pastoral care skills; so nursing home residents of no means and no family can have smiling and compassionate visitors. We do this so that the staff at great medical centers can have someone to share their burdens and comfort THEIR losses. And we do this so 100s of volunteers can learn how to be skilled pastoral care givers and lay chaplains, thereby fostering a spirit of care across Northern Illinois.”
Her stirring words and months of work paid off, as Bishop Anderson House successfully met the financial goals of the event.
We thank Kay, Deb Kelliher, all the volunteers, and all of our friends who so steadfastly give so that Bishop Anderson House can continue to foster the spirit of care.
