Interactive ‘Find a Lay Chaplain’ Map

Announcing the publication of the Bishop Anderson House interactive Find a Lay Chaplain map. This project has been in the works for a long time.The map will serve as a digital way both to see the geographic distribution of our graduates across the United States, as well as a resource for those in the greater Chicago area to find pastoral care visitors near them. Trained lay chaplains may be just around the corner from you.

A New BAH Publication: The Book of Prayer for Chaplains

Bishop Anderson House and Rush University’s Department of Religion, Health, and Human Values (RHHV) are excited to announce the publication of “[The Pretty Good, Comprehensive-ish] Book of Prayer for Chaplain's [and Scriptures, too]”. Our Julian Intern, Cate Anthony, compiled and designed the book in collaboration with Zac Willette, Staff Chaplain at Rush University, and Gary Wilson, ACPE Supervisory Candidate at Rush. Bishop Anderson plans to publish the book for the use of our Volunteer Lay Chaplain’s Training Program graduates, while RHHV will provide the book for their CPE interns and residents. Operation Bear Hug takes a road trip

Just in time for summer, Operation Bear Hug takes a road trip to St. Michael's, Barrington to bring warmth and comfort during the Barrington Back to School Vaccination Clinic. The St. Michael's pastoral care team and alumni will be on hand with soft teddy bears, smiles and a word of encouragement for the young folks who will be getting their back to school immunizations. Exploring End of Life Spiritual Care Conference

We are pleased to invite you to our daylong conference: Exploring End of Life Spiritual Care: Learning from Case Studies. The conference will be held on June 2, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Room 994 of the Armour Academic Center, Rush University Medical Center, 600 South Paulina. Welcoming The Rev. Tommy Rogers as new Executive Director

It is with great pleasure that the Trustees of Bishop Anderson House announce that The Rev. Thomas (Tommy) S. Rogers, III succeeds The Rev. James (Jay) L. Risk III as our fifth Executive Director.  Tommy has very strong chaplaincy and leadership credentials, and we are delighted to have such an engaging, warm successor leading our organization into the next steps of fulfilling our mission.
