Join us Saturday, April 26, 2025 for a hybrid workshop for spiritual caregivers, The Trauma of Resilience: Self Care as a Sacred Practice.  This transformative workshop led by Rev. Dr. Ebony D. Only, will build on your Spiritual Care Visitor Training foundation by:

  • Help you recognize the signs of stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue
  • Explore the connection between resilience and burnout in ministry
  • Introduce practical tools for sustainable self-care as spiritual caregivers
  • Offer new perspectives on moving forward beyond mere survival to genuine thriving

Through engaging discussion and interactive exercises, you’ll learn how to:

  • Honor your own humanity while caring for others
  • Develop healthy boundaries and sustainable practices
  • Transform your understanding of self-care from “self-indulgence” to “self-preservation”
  • Connect with fellow spiritual care providers in authentic community

Rev. Dr. Ebony D. Only serves as the Inaugural Community Chaplain Fellow for Bishop Anderson House and is the Executive Pastor of First Baptist Church of University Park in University Park, IL.  She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Chicago State University, Master of Arts in Human Resources from Fort Hays State University, Master of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership from Lee University School of Religion and earned the Doctorate of Ministry Degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.  Guided by 1 Peter 2:9, Ebony has been called to the care, education, coaching and empowerment of her brothers and sisters, accompanying them while they discern their spiritual path and discover their full potential.
