A key component of caring for others is being aware that wellness and prevention can abate some crises. As we learn more and more about healthy lifestyles and the importance of mental health care, BAH is pleased to offer programs to promote the well-being of all individuals–as well as communities.

  • The End is Where We Begin is a community outreach presentation focusing on Advanced Directives Education.
  • To develop an atmosphere of self-care we currently host bi-annual stress reduction events for the staff of Project Connect at the CORE Center. We also host periodic memorial services so that staff may honor the patients they have cared for.
  • We work with the ALIVE! Project, a collaboration between academic researchers from Rush University Medical Center and church leaders from African American churches. The focus is to help communities at large build healthier lifestyle behaviors in order to reduce the health disparities found in the African American community compared to other groups.
